WHY WE BUILT OUTSIDER
In 2018, we were doing everything we thought we were supposed to do, but deep down we knew something was missing.
C.J. was working a corporate job that didn’t feel aligned, and I was juggling multiple side businesses while being a mom to our four boys. Life looked stable from the outside, but most nights we went to bed feeling disconnected from the kind of life we actually wanted to build.
Years earlier, we had taken a big risk that didn’t work out the way we hoped, and stepping out again felt intimidating. It’s easy to get caught by the golden handcuffs of a life that feels comfortable and predictable, even when you know you were created for something more.
Then we discovered the possibility of opening a drive-thru coffee business, and something in us came alive again.
As the vision for Outsider started taking shape, we realized this was becoming about far more than coffee. We wanted to build a business centered around people, community, encouragement and meaningful human connection.
Opening our first Outsider location in Southern Oregon was a huge leap of faith. Jackson County is one of the most competitive drive-thru coffee markets in the country, surrounded by established coffee brands and major competitors. We knew that if we were going to survive, we couldn’t simply blend in. We had to create something different.
So we focused on building more than a transaction.
We created a people-first drive-thru coffee franchise centered around genuine connection, strong community involvement and helping people wake up to their greatness.
From handwritten Wake Up words on cup lids to community partnerships, meaningful customer interactions and leadership-driven culture, Outsider was intentionally designed to make people feel seen, valued and encouraged.
What started as a risk has grown into a business, mission and community we care deeply about protecting and building intentionally every single day.

MAYBE YOU'VE FELT THIS TOO...
One of the reasons we care so deeply about franchising Outsider is because we know firsthand what it feels like to quietly wonder if there’s something more for your life.
Maybe you’ve built a career that looks successful on paper, but deep down it no longer feels aligned with who you are or the kind of future you want to create.
Maybe you’ve spent years taking care of everyone else while your own dreams slowly got pushed to the side.
Maybe you’ve found yourself stuck between comfort and calling. Grateful for the life you’ve built, but still feeling pulled toward something more meaningful, more flexible and more connected to who you actually are.
We understand that feeling because we’ve lived it too.
That’s one of the reasons Outsider means so much to us.
We believe meaningful business ownership has the power to change not only financial futures, but also confidence, purpose, leadership and the way people experience everyday life.
Outsider isn’t simply about opening drive-thru coffee franchises.
It’s about creating opportunities for people to build something they genuinely believe in while making a meaningful impact in their families and communities along the way.
Because sometimes one brave decision changes far more than just your career.
Sometimes it changes the entire direction of your life.

THE MOST VALUABLE ASSET
We can't talk about being a people first company if we don't give you the foundation to build and serve an incredible team.
Our team and our culture has been the result of leading with vulnerability and humility. It has also been built on a foundation of solid systems which is why we're excited to teach you everything we know.

YOUR GREATEST OPPORTUNITY
When you open the doors of your first Outsider Coffee drive-thru, something incredible will happen. You'll start meeting customers, you'll learn about their lives and what they love, you'll be a part of their highs and lows. You'll celebrate with them and somedays you might even cry with them.
You'll greet them with a smile and hand them their favorite drink with a "Wake Up Word" hand written on the top. You'll facilitate pay it forward chains that last for hours. You'll host "Power Hours" that allow area businesses to buy customers coffee and see the incredible generosity of the human spirit in action.
This journey will change you, and then - it will change your community.
